At Avonwood we develop our children's creativity, knowledge and understanding through enrichment of our music curriculum within each year group. We offer each child the opportunity to perform, compose, listen, appreciate and evaluate music from a wide genre. To explore different musical instruments and performance opportunities. Each child will have a firm knowledge of music notation which will develop on their musical journey. As an addition to the core music curriculum the children will participate in the United Learning Singing Strategy Initiative.
During their time at Avonwood the children will benefit from singing assemblies, external music providers, choir, recorder groups ,trust orchestra, live music performances, peripatetic teaching for those wishing to take part and a number of performance opportunities.
Please note that planned curriculum may be subject to change due to timetabling, 'in house' and external performances.
